Calamity Brains

Funny stuff that's no joke.
Supporting neurodivergents with humor, resources,
and community.
About us
Calamity Brains, LLC, is the words, art, humor, and heart of two late, late-recognized neurodivergent women. The internet being what it is for women, that’s as much as we’re going to say, identity-wise. We’ve both been “diagnosed” with ADHD, and one of us is also on the autism spectrum.
Two neurodivergents walk into a coffee shop...
This project was originally going to be something much different, but when we sat down with our coffee to settle on and conceptualize what that was, we couldn’t get started. We had way too many ideas and no way to corral them. “What if we make this about having ADHD and not being able to start?” And so Calamity Brains was born. We are a cartoonist/visual artist and a writer. This is our way of sharing what we’ve experienced living life as neurodivergent people who had no concept of it until later in life. It hasn’t been easy, but it has at times been pretty fucking funny.
It's just us ND's here.
That said, we’re not scientists, therapists, or any “ists” except feminist artists who have experienced and lived this ND life. Anything we say here is just that…our personal experience. Yours may differ. We’re not offering up medical or life advice and none of our work should be construed as such. We ARE offering humor, resources, and community.
You're welcome, unless you're not.
This is a place for everyone, but particularly for women and LGBTQIA+ folks who have lived this experience, and those who’d like to understand neurodivergence more fully. If that’s not you and you’re looking to be an asshole, look elsewhere because you’re the only one not welcome here. We’ve all had enough bullshit to last a million lifetimes and we won’t have that here.
With humor and warmth,
Stitch & Sparkler
